Throughout the year the Team attends various fetes,
fairs and country shows. Many people came and meet us and learned more about the Team. I am sure all who came for a chat found us to be a very friendly bunch and some of you found that some of our members can talk "the hide legs of a donkey"!
Below are some of the venues we attended in 2007.
On Saturday 28 April the Backpackers Club held their annual meeting at Bellingham. The Team were invited to attend. Vango generously donated to the Team a marquee tent which we will use at other venues throughout the year.
On the May Day Bank Holiday, 7 May, the Team were present at KirkHarle near Kielder overseeing the safety of a fell race, meeting the public and giving a demonstration of how the Team operates.
This is how we meet the public. Talking to interested members of the community. A demonstration showing how our search dog operates in making a find. The search group arrives to prepare for evacuation.
This fell racing event is organised primarily for the uniformed services. The Team provides safety cover. The conditions for this year's event were anythning but ideal
The Team attends the Chevy Chase. Each year the Team attends the Chevy Chase organised by the Wooler Running Club. In 2006 a special film was made to celebrate the 50th running of the event. In the film the Team was given special mention. The Team provides safety cover for participants who have find the going tougher than expected. Read more about this year's event and more photos here
