Saving Lives in Wild and Remote Places
New All Terrain Ambulance

One of our current landrover ambulances is coming to the end of its life saving work. The vehicle in question is the one illustrated in the picture. Its role is to take the command trailer to an incident and then act in support of Team members. If necessary the same vehicle will go on to the fell or moor, driven by one of our fully police trained drivers, to evacuate a casualty. The Team is working hard to try and raise funds for its replacement. We attend as many county shows as we can; a small committee organise the Cheviots Challenge; some of our members make presentations and of course we have collection boxes around the county.
Landrover, command trailer with support from Police helicopter
A vehicle like this was was used on 3 October 2007. Read about the incident in question.

The cost for a replacement is high. We first have to purchase a landrover. The vehicle is then sent to a specialist company who refurbish the vehicle suitable for the work we require it to do. The cost, currently £35000. If you or your company can help us in our quest please contact our who will gladly discuss with you your proposal. However large or small your donation may be, you will be acknowledged on this page, if you so wish.
