Team receives a cheque for £1000.
In September 2008 a group of people from RAF Linton on Ouse made up of RAF personnel, Staff from VT Aerospace and the MoD took up the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, a walk of 25 miles over Pen-y-Ghent (2273 feet), Whernside (2414 feet) and Ingleborough (2373 feet) to be completed within 12 hours. Their purpose was to raise funds for the Team. Here is a summary of their epic fund raising event.

A coach left the RAF Linton on Ouse at 5am and bacon butties were handed out to all participants. At Horton in Ribblesdale the 67 participants split into smaller groups and by 8.00am they all set off (the runners went first) from the Pen-y-Ghent Cafe. Between each peak there was a rendezvous point where a head count was made, food and water was dispensed and participants physical state was checked. Of the 67 who started the challenge, 58 completed it.

Fastest finisher 5hrs 20mins.

Last finisher just made it in the 12hrs as he was helping down the walking wounded. preceding finishers went back up Ingleborough to take over so he could run to the café to get in within the 12hrs to complete the challenge. Now that's Team work.

The Team thanks all participants in raising this money.
