Missing 40 Year in Allendale.

The Police were concerned for the where abouts of a missing 40 year old who had failed to return to his campsite, late on 2 June 2007, in the Whitfield area, near Hexham Northumberland. The Team leaders from both the Norhumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team and the North of Tyne SRT met with police to discuss a search strategy. Both Teams were placed on standby at 1330 hours. Whilst the discussions with the police were taking place at the camp site, the missing person was located safe and well in the Allendale area. Both Teams were stood down.

This is an example of how rescue Teams in Northumberland work skillfully together to secure the right outcome.
