The Team was contacted by the Northumbria police at around 1045 hours, and the Team was called out at 1205 hours.
There was some concern about an elderly Alzheimer's sufferer, who left home at 2030 the previous evening. A bus driver
later reported that he had dropped him off at North Shields Metro station; this was confirmed by the station CCTV.
There were further sightings later that night. He lived in
Whitley Bay, and walked
regularly along the seafront to
Seaton Sluice. Our search concentrated on the paths and tracks around
St Mary's Island and the golf course. Reported sightings
continued during the day, and the search was called off at 1600 hours
