41 26 Sept
Northumbria Police asked the Team for assistance in the search for a missing 81 year old male. After preliminary enquiries were made the Team was called out at 0055 hours on 27 September. As Team members were en route to Washington, South Tyneside, the missing person was located outside the prospective search area. The Team was stood down at 0057 hours!
42 7 Oct
Northumbria Police contacted the team leader and requested our overhead team proceed to Haltwhistle police office to discuss search strategy for the missing 22 year old in the Slaggyford area of Alston. As overhead team where en route the missing person was located and Team stood down.
43 12 Oct 0125 hours
Northumbria Police were concerned for missing 80 year old male and contacted the Team. The overhead team were dispatched to discuss a search plan with the police. However, the missing person was located and the overhead team were recalled. No further action was required.
44 12 Oct 2330 hours
Concerns were expressed for vulnerable 69 year old female. The Team Leader was contacted by police requesting the Team's assistance with an ongoing missing person from home from the North Tyneside area. Team leader assisted the police in making a search plan. As this was moving to a full team callout the missing person was located and no further action was required from the Team.
45 16 Oct
Northumbria Police contacted the Team leader and requested our assistance in the search, on the moors in the Wooler area of North Northumberland, for a group of missing children aged from 5 to 12. In addition, a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Boulmer was requested. As the Team were en route the missing children were located safe and well. The Team was stood down.
46 23 Oct 0300 hours
Northumbria Police contacted the Team Leader in relation to an on going, missing person enquiry. Due to the age and location of the missing person, the police requested the overhead team to RV at Slaley Hall hotel. As police and search managers were planning the search, for a first light full Team callout, the missing person was located at 04:43 hrs. The overhead team and SARDA dog teams were stood down. No further team action was required.
47 26 Oct
The Team leader was contacted by Northumbria Police for assistance in the evacuation of two fallen climbers in the Kyloe Craggs area of North Northumberland. As the Team were en route, North East Air Ambulance evacuated the injured climbers to hospital. The Team was stood down.
48 28 Oct
The Team leader was contacted by Northumbria Police to assist a walker with serious leg injuries in the Drakestone area near Harbottle. The injured walker was evacuated by air ambulance to hospital.
49 29 Oct
Northumbria Police contacted the Team leader regarding two missing walkers and their dog in Thrunton Woods, North Northumberland. A small search group was dispatched and with the help of the police helicopter the lost walkers were found safe and well and taken back to their car.
Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team are affiliated to "Mountain Rescue - England and Wales" and a registered charity. We provide a Search and Mountain Rescue service throughout the Northumbria Police Force area and beyond primarily for the Police but also for the other emergency services. All Team members are volunteers and we rely on monies raised by ourselves as a registered charity to run the Team.
