21 20 June
Whilst the Team members were present in Wooler, North Northumberland, the Ambulance service requested assistance at a RTA North of Wooler. Team members attended and assisted the Ambulance service, one minor injured casualty and one very seriously injured casualty who was air lifted by RAF Rescue helicopter to Wansbeck hospital.
22 21 June
Whilst providing rescue cover for a fell race in North Northumberland,the Team had to deal with several incidents where participants needed help:-
  • Team medic treated a fell runner who sustained an ankle injury.
  • 23 21 June
    Following on from incident number 23.
  • Team medic treated another fell runner who sustained also sustained an ankle injury.
  • 24 21 June
    Whilst attending a fell race in North Northumberland the Team was asked to assist the ambulance service with an incident in the Wooler area.
    25 25 June
    Northumbria Police requested assistance and consultation for a missing male who was in Chopwell Woods. As further information was being assimilated by the team leader, the person was located by a police dog handler. As Team were enroute they were immediately informed and stood down.
    26 6 July
    The Team was called out to Langleeford in the Cheviot Hills of North Northumberland to assist a female who had slipped and broken her leg. As the Team was enroute it was learnt that a helicopter from RAF Boulmer had airlifted the injured person to hospital. The Team was stood down.
    27 03 August
    Police requested The Team's assistance in locating a missing 76 year old male who had been reported missing at 00:00 on the 3 August, after going for a walk on 2 August. At 02:30 hours, the Team and North of Tyne SRT were deployed to assist in the search for the missing person. Some time later he was found, safe and well and returned to his family.     28 05 August
    Police were concerned to the safety and whereabouts of a missing 17 year old and requested The Team's assistance in locating him. As the Team leader and deputy were enroute the police they had located the missing person. The Police request no further team involvement. Teams stood down 23:55hrs.
    29 08 August
    At 1953 hrs the Team Leader was contacted by the Police who requested assistance with a missing vulnerable male. An overhead team from NNPMRT and NOTSRT was dispatched to consult with the Police and make an assessment of the situation. On the information presented, it was decided to conduct a limited search consisting of a police search team and our own SARDA dogs. At 0130 on the 9 August the search was called off after nothing was found.. No further action was required and the Teams were stood down.
    30 14 August
    1155 hours. NESRA stand-by.
    The Team was placed on stand-by to assist Teesdale MRT in a search for a missing despondent male. As more information was becoming available, the person was located out of area/ Stand-by cancelled and team stood down at 1445 hours.
    Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team are affiliated to "Mountain Rescue - England and Wales" and a registered charity. We provide a Search and Mountain Rescue service throughout the Northumbria Police Force area and beyond primarily for the Police but also for the other emergency services. All Team members are volunteers and we rely on monies raised by ourselves as a registered charity to run the Team.
