1 16 January
Team searched the Tyne Valley for a missing despondant 44 year old male. Search called after exhaustive search produced nothing. Police located the missing person next day in South Shields.
2 11 February
Team called out to search for a missing 18 year old in the Allendale/Catton village area. Nothing was found after several hours searching. The missing person was located in Glasgow. Team stood down.

19 February
Two Pennine Way walkers were decending Windy Gyle contacted the Police saying they were exhausted, very cold and had over estimated their intended route. Small seach group assembled and proceeded to the location given. Farmer at Trows had brough the walkers off teh hill. Team medics checked out the walkers and they were then taken to their overnight accommodation at Uswayford.
4 21 February
Police requested the assistance to search for a missing 40 year old female in the Cleadon Hills. Team responded at first light on 22 February. A body was recovered later.
5 22 February
Police requested the assistance to search for a missing 30 year old female. She was last seen in Choppington . Search focused in this area and woodland around Guidepost . Missing person located and evacuated to hospital.
6 27 February
A 12 year old male went missing in the Throckley area of Newcastle. Search conducted. The missing person was located by a member of the public who had been listening to press releases made by the Team.
7 12 March Team placed on standby to search for a missing 92 yearold missing form a rest home. The missing person was quickly pocated and the Team was stood down.
8 19 March
Poloce asked for the assistance of the Team to locate a missing 11 year old male who ran off from school into some woodland. As the Team leader was enroute the missiing male was located by the police.
9 27 March
The Team was put on standby to search for a missing 16 year old female missing overnight. As the Team were about to deploy, the missing female was located at home after catching a bus home!
10 1 May
An abondened rucksac was found on Windy Gyle in the Cheviot Hills and taken to Rothbury Police station. The Team was stood down when an 18 year old male reported a rucksac missing from Windy Gyle. The rucksac had been left there whilst the male explored the Border Ridge, returning to Windy Gyle to find his rucksac missing.
11 19 May
NESRA callout to Upper Teesdale. NNPMRT were one of 9 rescue teams, including an RAF SAR helicopter and the police fixed wing aricraft searching for a missing 71 year old male who had become separated form his walking companion. Th gentleman had made his way off Cothersone Moor and spent the night in a B&B near Middleton in Teesdale. On hearing the news on the radio the next morning, the owner of the B&B reported someone fitting the gentleman's description was staying at his establishment. The gentleman did not think it necessary to report his where abouts.
12 20 May
The Team was asked to assist Teesdale MRT in the search of a 41 year old despondant male. After extensive search of woodlands, cave and quarries nothing was found. The missing person was located 2 days later well out side the search area.
13 25 May
A 31 year old male in a fell walking event was complaining of pains in his rib cage. The Team's medics were dispatched to Windy Gyle and examined the gentleman. He decided to continue in the event and finished without further mishap.
14 15 June

In a fell race event in the Cheviots Hills a participant was guided off Scald Hill after complaining of pains in the lower left leg. He was returned to the race start by Team members.

In the same event another participant was treated for injuries received to his leg after sustaining a fall on Cheviot summit. He was evacuated to an awaiting ambulance.

Another participant was treated for injuries received to a left knee.

15 3 July The Team was asked to assit in the search for a missing 8 year old male. He was located late into the evening wandering in open land.
16 6 July
During a fell race in the Cheviot Hills a 2 male participants were escorted off the hill suffering from exhaustion. After treatement both wer returned to the race start.
17 10 July
The Team were asked to search for a despondant 51 year old male, who had left his car in Craster. A note left in the car was causing concern. After exhaustive search by the Team and Coastguard nothing was found.
18 3 August
The Team was called to assist the police in the search for a missing ( since 31/07/2002 ) 51 year old male in Chopwell Woods and the surrounding area. After an exhaustive search nothing was found.
19 29 August
Team placed on standby for a missing female. Located at a friend's house. Team stood down 3 hours later after police enquires located the missing feamle.
20 16 September
Team placed on standby to locate a missing 69 year old male who had become separated from his companions in the Cheviots Hills. His companions reported him missing. As the Team stood down when the missing person was located in Kirk Yetholm: over the border in Scotland
21 29 September
Team placed on standby for first light to locate a missing 41 year old male in the area around High Warden. The Team was stood down when he returned home.
22 13 October
Whilst the Team were completing an exercise in Thrunton Woods the Team Leader was approached by the parents of two young boys who had become detached from their parents. The Team vehicles were dispatched with search groups and the missing boys were located safe and well.
23 26 October

Whilst providing rescue cover for a 2 day mountain marathon event 4 incidents were dealt with by the Team. All were minor injuires received or exhaustion whilst participanting in this event.

The next day a further 5 incidents were dealt with by the Team, mainly hypothermic but one was quite severe and an RAF SAR helicopter evacuated the person to hospital.

24 27 October
Whilst the majority of the Team were covering the event of 26 October, the police asked the Team search for a missing 68 year old male, last seen the previous night. Deputy Team Leader deployed and after careful enquiries the missing gentleman was found in a hypothermic state. He was transferred to hospital by ambulance
